Based on the decision of the Council for Humanitarian Cooperation of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) member states on October 8, 2024, the city of Lachin in the East Zangezur economic region of the Republic of Azerbaijan has been declared the "Cultural Capital of the CIS" for 2025.

In connection with this, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Youth Foundation of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Interstate Foundation for Humanitarian Cooperation of CIS Member States, and the National Council of Youth Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan (NAYORA) will jointly organize the "International Cinema Days of CIS Countries" and the "CIS Youth Camp" in Lachin from August 25-29, 2025. The project will be dedicated to August 26, which is "Lachin City Day."

Representatives from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan are expected to participate in the project.

Within the framework of the camp, participants will engage in discussions in four working groups on topics related to creative industries. They will also develop and present ideas for joint projects. Additionally, various masterclasses will be organized for young people in the fields of theater, art, and media creation. The activities of these working groups are intended to create opportunities for cooperation and joint initiatives among the youth of CIS countries.

During the "International Cinema Days of CIS Countries," films from the participating countries will be screened. A total of one subtitled film from each country is planned to be shown.
