May 28 – Independence Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan

On May 28, 1918, the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, the first parliamentary republic in the Muslim East, was proclaimed. The republic formed the foundations of statehood in a short time and realized the people's dreams of freedom and national sovereignty.

Today, the Republic of Azerbaijan, as a worthy successor to that glorious heritage, continues its successful development as an independent, strong and stable state.
