The “Debate in Civil Society” Public Union began its activities in Azerbaijan in 1998 as the “Debate” educational program and was officially established as a public union in 2001. The mission of the “Debate in Civil Society” Public Union is to educate society by providing various services and supporting youth initiatives. The organization was recognized as the best youth NGO by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2005 and 2007, receiving a special diploma. Additionally, in 2007 and 2011, it was honored to participate in a meeting with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, alongside active youth. Over 13 years, the organization has conducted more than 75 debate tournaments, 350 training sessions, seminars, and consulting programs, 24 summer schools, and two international forums with the participation of over 15 countries. These events have engaged 20,000 participants, including government institutions, various companies, NGOs, and youth. Today, the organization operates in multiple regions across the country, bringing together 60 schools and 31 higher education institutions.
